

William John Burdine, 85, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on November 10, 2021. Born in Washington D.C., William lived in the Northern Virginia area throughout his younger years and into his adult life. He proudly served in the United States Army for four years which afforded him the opportunity to travel the world. Soon after, he launched his career as a Mortgage Banker, working for both Freddie Mack and Fannie Mae financial institutions.
William took an early retirement, and moved with his wife to Florida, but eventually ended up settling in Williamsburg, Virginia. He loved working on the computer, visiting Colonial Williamsburg, learning about history, watching documentaries, and rooting for the Washington Redskins.
William is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia Burdine; daughters, Laura Brewington (Michael) and Leann Pate (Craig); nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10:30-11:30am, with a funeral beginning at 11:30am at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg. Following the service, the family will receive friends for a reception at the funeral home. Service will conclude with burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Williamsburg at 2:00pm.
