William McCoy Forbes, 85, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on April 6, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Forbes; mother, Gladys Forbes; brothers, Lawrence Forbes Jr., and Eddie Clay Forbes; and sister, Gloria Perry.
William worked as a self-employed Lithographer and was a member of First Baptist Church, Williamsburg, VA. He was a Mason and a member of Senior Golfers of Virginia and Big Brothers Big Sisters. William also served in the Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances Marie Forbes; daughters, Sharolyn Forbes, Cynthia Jordan (Roger), Cassundra Jewell (Eric); and grandchildren, Chiley Holder, Bria Jordan, and Anthony Jewell. William is also survived by his brother, Carlton Forbes; sisters, Pauline Barber, Shirley Jones, Marcell Hooks, and Ellenois Watkins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, from 11-12pm, followed by a funeral service at 12pm, at First Baptist Church, 727 Scotland St., Williamsburg, VA. A graveside service will take place at St. Michaels Cemetery, 7202 Astoria Blvd., East Elmhurst, NY on Monday, April 14, at 1pm. Online condolences may be offered at www.nelsencares.com.
