William Henry “Bill” Gibson, 94, died Monday, Nov. 3, at Morningside of Williamsburg. Bill was a native of Charlotte Courthouse, VA and had been a Williamsburg resident since 1954. Mr. Gibson served in World War II in the 306th Hospital core and later retired from Lance, Inc. in 1982. He attended Grace Baptist Church. He is preceded by his wife, Mildred "Bunny" Birch Gibson; his second wife, Naomi Riddle Gibson; and siblings, Florene, Roy, Robert, Bernice, Fred, and Mary Lee. Survivors include three sons, Michael A. Gibson and his wife Edie of Martin, TN, William F. Gibson of Newport News, John T. Gibson of West Point and eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and step sons. He is survived by one brother, Allen B. Gibson, Jr. and his wife Mildred. Visiting hours will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 4 from 4-6pm. Funeral services will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 5 at 1pm. Graveside services following at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
