Brent was born October 16, 1963 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. After graduating from Bethel High School in Hampton, Virginia, he worked at Newport News Shipbuilding, before going to Christopher Newport College. While at CNC, Brent met the love of his life and best friend, Beth.
He began his career at UPS by washing trucks while going to school. Over 37 years, Brent worked tirelessly with professionalism and excellence, moving to a supervisor role, then sales, before eventually retiring as an Enterprise Pricing Manager.
Brent loved God, and actively lived his faith every day at Gospel Way Baptist Church. His heart for children’s ministries was evident through his work as a deacon, substitute Sunday School teacher, coaching basketball and baseball, and commissioner for Upward Basketball. But most of all, he loved serving alongside his wife. His perfect Saturday involved a drive in his 1970 Ford Mustang with Beth and a Chick-fil-A sweet tea.
Brent is survived by his wife of 34 years, Beth, his children Michelle (Seth), Tiffani (Joseph), Danielle (Logan), Taylor (Kali), Parker, Henley (Bre), and Owen, his grandchildren, Hayden, JJ, Carson, Elizabeth, Maxwell, Korbin, Brooks, Abigail, Dawson, and Finnegan, his father Ronald (Kimberly), and his brother and sister, Perry (Vicki) and Caren (Michael). He was preceded in death by his mother Nina and his brother Steven.
A celebration of Brent’s life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Gospel Way Baptist Church, 6515 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. The family will be accepting visitors at 2pm, with a ceremony to follow at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Gospel Way Baptist Church Capital Campaign or Upward Basketball Ministry.
