Alfred Schmidt

Williamston, MI

Born December 25, 1935 in Germany, the son of Herman and Adoline Schmidt, passed away December 29, 2011 at the age of 76. Alfred immigrated to this country in 1952. He was employed by Lindell Drop Forge for many years and retired from Lake City Forge after many years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling and gardening and was an avid MSU basketball fan. Al enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his beloved wife, Deloris “Carol” Schmidt; daughter, Christine (Steven) Fazio of Williamston; grandchildren, Phillip Fazio of Charlotte, NC and Jacob Fazio of Williamston. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston, MI. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service.
