

Anne Elizabeth Hedden, 84, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. A lifelong Michigander, Anne was born on July 22, 1940, and spent the majority of her life enriching the communities around her with her intelligence, creativity, and unwavering dedication to family and faith.
Anne graduated from Williamston High School and went on to earn a diploma from Cleary College’s secretarial school. Her professional life was marked by versatility and a strong work ethic. She held positions as a hospital secretary and worked in factory roles at John Bean and Dart in Lansing. She also delivered rural newspapers for the Lansing State Journal and became a high-volume Tupperware dealer. Anne served as secretary for her beloved Doe Si Doe Square Dance Club and later worked as a secretary for a local attorney. Never one to stop learning or contributing, she returned to school before joining the Michigan Public Service Commission.
A woman of many talents and interests, Anne had a deep love for gardening and could often be found tending to her plants with care. She enjoyed garage saling, square dancing, and solving crossword puzzles. Her creative spirit shone through in everything she did—from decorating beautiful birthday cakes to sewing Halloween costumes for her children. She took great joy in helping children decorate their bicycles for the Red Cedar Jubilee parade in Williamston and regularly entered exhibits in the Ingham County Fair.
Anne was a devoted parishioner at St. Mary’s in Williamston for nearly her entire life. Her faith was a cornerstone of her identity and guided her through both joyful moments and times of sorrow.
She resided in Perry for more than 40 years, where she built a warm home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Anne is survived by her daughter Patricia Hedden; sons Brian Hedden and Steven Hedden; grandchildren Andrew Hedden, Matthew Hedden, Christopher Hedden, Katelyn Hedden, Sierra Hedden, and Sullivan Hedden; great-granddaughter Elle Hedden; sisters Joyce Goerge, Lauris Barr, Ruth Milhisler, Elaine Smith, Margaret Jacobs, Barbara Bridges (Tom); brother Joseph Martin (Pat); as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Hedden; sons Daniel Hedden, Gary Hedden, and Ronald Hedden; daughter Joanne Hedden; parents Lawrence and Lois Martin (Rundel); sister Mary Heeg; and brother Christopher Martin.
Anne Elizabeth Hedden leaves behind a legacy of resilience, creativity, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
The visitation for Anne will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Rosary at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston, MI 48895.
The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 157 High St., Williamston, MI 48895. Anne will lie in state beginning at 10:00 AM until the start of Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
