Barbara M. Donnelly

Barbara was born in Wadsworth, Ohio, and graduated from Ohio State University in 1960. She married Albert Ackerly and had two children (Gretchen and Pete). Throughout her career, Barbara worked as a dental hygienist. Barbara was an accomplished golfer who was passionate about the game.

After the passing of Albert Ackerly, Barbara married Peter Donnelly. In retirement, they played golf and traveled extensively until his passing in 2012.

Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, Byron and Evelyn Hindall, brothers Jack and Harry Hindall, sister Patricia Hindall, first husband Albert Ackerly, second husband Peter Donnelly, daughter Gretchen Cecil (Ackerly), and grandson Benjamin Cecil.

Surviving Barbara is her son Pete Ackerly, stepchildren Jeff Ackerly, Bruce Ackerly, Barbara Ann Volk (Ackerly), Eric Ackerly, daughter in law Lisa Ackerly (Demerly), son in law David Cecil, grandchildren Allison Enochs (Ackerly), Ryan Ackerly, Ashley McKissack (Cecil), Megan McConchie, and great-grandchildren Colter Ackerly, and Ellie and Josie McKissack.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Palms Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Following the service, a reception will take place at the church. Barbara’s remains will be interred at the Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery, Ponte Vedra, Florida.
