Carolyn Jean Martin

Carolyn Jean Martin age 82, passed away on October 7th, 2025 in Lansing, Michigan after a 10 month battle with cancer. Carolyn was born on October 4th, 1943 to her father, Sidney Frank Cobb and her mother, Llewella Esline Cobb. Carolyn graduated from Williamston High School in 1961. She attended Spring Arbor University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Carolyn taught early elementary education throughout her career. Carolyn married Donald Martin from St. Paul, Minnesota in 2006. Carolyn loved to cook for others and had a beautiful singing voice. She was a dedicated caregiver to friends and family. Carolyn was a devoted mother to Todd Carlisle and Kelly Bullock. She was kind, sincere, she loved her family, and enjoyed hosting many get togethers with them.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Cobb; her mother, Llewella Cobb; her brother, Irvin Cobb; and her sister, Donna Rose. Carolyn is survived by Vernon (Charlene) Cobb, Kelly (Dave) Bullock, Todd Carlisle, Steffen Carlisle, Sarena (Shawn) Kelly, Murray Kelly, Brendan Wilson, Karlyn Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation service on Sunday, October 12th, 2025 at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E Middle St. Williamston, Michigan, from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be a funeral service held on Monday, October 13th, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Williamston Free Methodist Church, 4400 N Williamston Rd, Williamston, Michigan, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
