Born to Charles W. deceased on 01/17/69 and his wife Mary Boyle Adams deceased on 10/9/76.
Beloved wife of James Robert Young, deceased on 09/08/10.
Catherine had two families. The first was with John G. Morgan, deceased. From this marriage, she had two daughters. Her first daughter Joanne C. Morgan died on 08/29/11. She is survived by her daughter Patricia L. and son-in-law Kenneth A. Hutchinson, her sister Mary Lou Bingen Haney and many nieces and nephews. All her nieces and nephews from this marriage called her "Aunt Kitty". How was "Aunt Kitty" derived from Catherine? Well the story goes to the time of her "childhood". As a little girl, her father always called her his kitten. That's how the nickname started. As she grew up her two brothers and sister called her" Kit" and their kids called her "Aunt Kitty".
In her second marriage to James Robert Young; James was known as "Bob" most of his life; she acquired four more children. Living step-son Patrick Young and his wife Susan deceased on 08/25/09. Living step-son Michael Young. Step-daughter Maureen Young Costa, deceased on 02/01/01. Living step-sister Colleen Young Reck from California.
Bob's children called her "Kit" and all her nieces and nephews called her "Aunt Cathy" from this marriage. She has many loving grand children and great grand children from this last marriage.
Catherine was a Paid Up life member of Fort Dearborn Unit 364, American Legion Auxiliary, in the Sixteenth District. Her daughter Joanne purchased a Paid Up for Life membership for both Kit and Bob in 2009.
Catherine, who was known to most Auxiliary members as Kit, joined the Auxiliary in 1976 through her late husband James Robert Young, a Navy Veteran.
Kit served the Unit as Historian when her daughter Joanne was President of 364. That year Kit won the Baynes-Campbell Award for the "best Calendar of Events History Book" from the Department of Michigan.
During Homecoming at the Ox Roast in Dearborn, Mi., Kit and Bob would be found volunteering their time and enjoying themselves. They made many acquaintances and when they moved to Florida, Kit stayed as a member of Fort Dearborn. Both Bob and Kit worked for the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary helping out at fundraisers and helping their daughter Joanne as she went through the chairs of the Sixteenth District.
Kit will be greatly missed by her Auxiliary friends.
