I had the pleasure of working with Dave at the Court of Appeals for many years. I remember him as one of the kindest and most pleasant people at the Court. My heart and prayers go out to you all during this time. No doubt the loss of him in your lives will be tremendous and I pray that time will ease your pain. It was an honor to know him and work with him. Work life was always a little brighter having his smiling face around.

Dave was an outstanding man. I've always felt welcome and accepted by him, even when I disappeared with his boat, for hours, often... Even when we crossed paths before our morning coffee.
I am proud, and lucky, to be a part of his family and his legacy. I'm glad to have so many great memories with Dave. Outstanding man indeed.

I sure enjoyed working with Dave for close to 19 years. I had no clue 6/1/17 was my last day working for JIS I didn't have the chance to say goodbye to anyone...I would have definitely said goodbye to you. So I will not say goodbye...just see you soon. Dave was a wonderful person to work with, had great ideas on handling situations, had some great advice with a twist of humor. Prayers for all of Dave's family and friends.

It is well with my soul. I can hear Dave saying this. I worked with Dave, also at the Court of Appeals, and a kinder, gentle, square-shooter of a man I have yet to meet....what a shame we express what we have always felt after the person cannot hear the words. It must be true that the Lord needs the very best of us earlier than the rest of us. He was so rich....filled with the love of family and friends. Dave touched many hearts and one was mine. Kind, kind man. Soon your sadness will turn to loving and warm memories. I am honored to have known him.
