Dorothy J. Nixon

Williamston, Michigan

Dorothy was born April 8, 1925 in Howell, Michigan to the late Homer and Freida (Maas) White, and passed away October 23, 2017 in Williamston, Michigan at age 92.

Dorothy enjoyed painting, music, being a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, but the most important thing to her was her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything. She enjoyed her career in banking, and retired from Republic Bank in 1990 after 21 years of dedicated service.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Freida, her late husband Milford (1992), and her daughter and son-in-law Cynthia (Thomas) Petrie. Left to cherish memories of Dorothy are her son Barry (Mary) Nixon, grandchildren Scott Petrie, Sandra (Dan) Mock, Deborah (Andy) Doll, Barry (Sarah) Nixon, nine great-grandchildren, sister Barbara (Gerald) Alchin, special nieces and nephews, and many friends at Riverwind Senior Adult Living home.

The funeral service is Saturday Oct. 28, 2017,11a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle Street.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service.

Interment to follow the service at Summit Cemetery.
