Dorothy loved helping people which started her career as a nurse at The Ingham County Medical Care facility in Okemos. Later in her career she proudly served as Officer at The Michigan Nurses Association in Lansing. Dorothy was very active in guidance of Michigan's Licensed Practical Nurses Association (LPNA)and also served as the association's national president. If you ever had the privilege of chatting with Dorothy, she would carry the best conversations and really enjoyed telling stories about all her wonderful adventures while traveling.
In her spare time Dorothy's hobbies include painting, and belonging to a Garden Club. She loved spending time with family and close friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Pickler; parents Nelson and Anna (Parcells) Stevens and brother Clarence Stevens.
Left to Cherish Dorothy's memory are her sons; Wayne Pickler (Tina); Bruce Pollock (Sabine); Jerry Lee Pickler (Peggy); sister Bernice Wolfgang; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also left to cherish Dorothy's memory are many good friends who will miss her and her stories terribly.
