Williamston, formerly of Webberville
Age 62, died March 9, 2017.
She was born on January 3, 1955 to Maurice and Helen Monroe, in Lansing, Michigan
Bette enjoyed being outdoors with a fishing pole in hand and loved camping. Family vacations were spent fishing, camping, warming by the campfire and making s’mores. Bette had a unique hobby; her favorite thing to do was to hunt for and discover unique field rocks. She could spend hours sifting through the field to find the perfect rock for her yard, with her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending antique tractor shows with one or more of the many that they owned, and walking around looking at all the varieties of tractors that surrounded her. Out of all these interests her biggest and proudest time was when she was able to spend time with Qortni, Maddison, and Braylon. The smile these grandchildren brought to her face and the love in her heart for them was priceless.
She loved spending time with and cooking for her family. She had quite a few family secret recipes that will be passed down to her children and grandchildren, so they can keep her legacy going.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Maurice Fredrick Monroe Jr. She is survived by her husband David; two sons, Justin (Jennifer) and David (Megan); her beautiful grandchildren, Qortni, Maddison and Braylon Kidd; brothers, Joe, Steve, and Chris; sisters, Lynda, Mary and Barb; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday March 18, 2017 at 1pm at Williamston Free Methodist Church, 4400 N. Williamston Rd., Williamston, MI 48895, with the Reverend Doug Bradshaw officiating.
Arrangements under the direction of Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Williamston, MI.
