Born January 5, 1932, son of Dewey and Ruth (Wygant) Acker of Webberville, died on November 17th.
Floyd was a Drywall Contractor; seven years, partner in T & A Drywall and 40 years as the owner of Acker Drywall.
He served in the Army from 1952-1954 at Fort Knox, Kentucky, in the 3rd Armored Division.
Floyd was a member of the Rowley Wesleyan Church, where he had served on the board and did many repairs on the church facility.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine; son Don Acker and Daughter-in-law Betty Jo, of Lake Odessa; son Ron Acker and Daughter-in-law Karen, of Saginaw; daughter Julie Klewicki and son-in-law John, of Richmond Kentucky. Nine grandchildren; Melody (Chad), Dan (Jacey), Nathan (Stephanie), Jason (Liz), Jennifer, Sarah, Tim (Ashley), Michael, and Hannah. Six great grandchildren; Kailey, Molly, Katie, Troy, Tristan and Addison. Sisters Edith Northrup and Bea Silsby, and brother Dave Acker (Sharon). Brother-in-law Lester Bennett (Libby).
A memorial service will be held for Floyd at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Rowley Wesleyan Church, 3720 Rowley Road, Williamston, Michigan, with Pastor Les Kephart officiating. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle, Williamston, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2010.
