George was born on Tuesday, December 14, 1971 to James and Jacqueline Musser Sr. in Lansing, Michigan. Of all of his siblings, George had the greatest passion for anything outdoors. Any chance to be in the sun or on the water fishing would make his day. Being in the woods brought him peace and solitude he didn't get at home, surrounded by all of his siblings. The chance to hunt or fish was a gift he never turned down.
George was a 1991 graduate from Hastings High School where he was a football player and gained the nickname, ”Moose”.
George grew up surrounded by family and friends who loved and supported him and never let him forget an embarrassing moment. Family was very important to George and he loved spending time with all of them. He looked forward to the annual camping/fishing trip with his nephew, Joey Epperson and Joey's Special Olympic teammates. They all had a special place in his heart.
June 6,1998, George married the love of his life, Amanda (Harris) Musser. Together they raised 3 children, Cassaundra (26), Serena (23), and Hunter (19). George shared the love of the outdoors with his family, often taking his children out hunting or fishing with him.
George worked as an auto mechanic for many years at Haslett Road Marathon, RPM- Lansing Auto Repair, and JD Byrider. It seemed as if he loved working on vehicles. Any time he could get greasy was a good time and he enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. He was always happy to help friends and family or even complete strangers get back on the road. His love of cars took him to the Onondaga Dragway where he helped out his best friend, Dan Pranshka, line up cars.
George loved to listen to music, especially with his headphones on. George put his whole heart into belting out those songs and never once cared if he sang out of tune. On rare occasions he could be found singing karaoke while being heckled by friends. Music was almost as great an escape for him as hunting and fishing.
In recent years, because he could no longer hunt, George was able to combine his lifelong love of hunting with his creative, hands-on side by making beautiful rings and lamps out of antlers. He was rightfully proud of his creations and was happy to share his talent with others.
George was predeceased by his mother, Jaqueline Ann Musser, his father, James Alvin Musser Sr., great-niece, Bryonna Marie Musser, and best friends, Dan Pranshka, Justin Anderson, and Mike Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Amanda (Harris) Musser, his children, Cassaundra Harris, Serena Musser and Hunter Musser. He is the cherished brother to John (Karen) Mealer, Cherrie (Kenny) Teneyck, Sheila Antes, Richard Torres, James (Coleen) Musser Jr., Yolanda (Jeff) Laughter, Laurie Musser, Tammy (Lowell) Doerr, Helen (Brian Lewis) Rusk, Hal (Vickie) Myers, Dan Myers, and Angie (Brodrick) Parker-Myers. George will be missed by his step mother Sharlyn Creighton, his in-laws Francis (the late Marietta) Schafer, a very special aunt Loretta Redmer, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Grand Ledge Baptist Church 1120 Willow Highway, Grand Ledge, Michigan 48837.
