

Helen was born September 7, 1924 in Lansing, Michigan to Ernest and Olive (Porter) Anspach. She worked for Nash Kelvinator, the maker of airplane propellers for the WW11 war effort. It was there she became interested in learning to fly, and as a young lady she walked for miles from her home to Capital City Airport for flying lessons. She received her pilot’s license, flew solo and with instruction even did spins and stalls. Helen and her husband, Dale R. Gorsline, were rock hounds having all the lapidary equipment to cut and polish stones. She was an avid photographer taking beautiful pictures which she loved sharing with friends and family, was a longtime volunteer at White Hills Nursing Home, and she loved taking pictures of all the events at White Hills. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Lansing. Preceding Helen in death are her parents, and husband. Surviving are her sons Bob (Connie) of Zeeland, MI, Bruce (Marilyn) of Williamston, MI, Bill (Maureen) of Lansing,MI; seven grandchildren, Christine (Andy) Zondervan, Nicholas (Lindsey) Gorsline, Jeffrey (Heather) Gorsline, Michael (Amanda) Gorsline, Lennae (Brad) McCoy, Deanne (Kevin) Lankheet, Steve Gorsline, and fifteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Opal C. Adams of Hayden, ID.
Visitation will be held Sunday September 29, 2013 from 6-8pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle St. Williamston, MI. The funeral service will be Monday at 12pm at the funeral home.
