Jane McChesney was the daughter of Fredrick and Matilda (Juhl) Kauffman, born September 27, 1930 in Chicago, IL. She passed away on February 27, 2017 in East Lansing, MI at age 86.
Jane was no stranger to adventure. She enjoyed music and movies, especially musicals, and she traveled all around the world to places like Japan, Ireland, Mexico, Russia, Thailand. She loved backpacking in Isles Royale, Michigan, Canada and Minnesota. She also loved art, teaching for about 15 years at Lansing Community College and Trap Hagen Design School of New York City, New York. She was a member of the Williamston Art League. In her more relaxed time she loved to read, garden, play the piano, take nature walks, dancing with her husband Clif and loved just being around people. Jane's favorite pass times were listening to Clif read poetry to her, and spending time with her family.
Preceding Jane in death were her parents, Frederick and Matilda; her husband; Clif, and her brother, Juhl. Surviving to cherish her in memory is her sister, Betty Metzler; and her sons, Gregg (Sarah) McChesney, Mark (Darleen) McChesney; grandchildren ,Sean McChesney, Melissa McChesney, Colleen McChesney, Monica McChesney, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday April 1st, 2017 at 2pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston. Those desiring may make donations to The Williamston Theatre, 122 S. Putnam St., Williamston, MI 48895.
