Karen Lynn Long was born on August 23, 1963 in Highland Park, MI to Wallace and Elaine (Podracky)
Gemignani. She graduated with a degree in business from Madonna University and used her knowledge to pioneer her own real estate appraisal company.
On September 13, of 1986, she married the love of her life Edward Wesley Long, and raised one
daughter, Hannah.
Karen was crafty and constantly had a small project going on. She has done embroidery, pottery, painting, baking and so much more. She’s known for her infectious laugh that you could hear across the room and her love of all things Disney. She was fiercely independent and a big believer of doing the right thing even if it wasn’t always popular.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Irene (Gino Gemignani), August Schenk, and Anthony (Stella) Podracky.
Left to cherish Karen’s memory is her loving husband Edward; daughter Hannah; parents Wallace and Elaine; and sister Gina (Michael) Flood.
Services for Karen will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church of Williamston in Williamston, MI on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:00 am with a visitation at 10 am.
Sincere thanks to the staff of Sparrow Hospital who provided her special attention while in their care.
