Katherine Louise(Bell) Hastings (Kittie Lou), age 84, of Curran, Michigan passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019. Katherine was born on December 28, 1934 in Alpena, Michigan to Thomas and Margaret Bell. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1953, and then went onto Michigan State University. Kittie met Bob at Michigan State and were married July 21, 1956. Together they raised their beautiful children, Pam Albright, Scott Hastings, Kevin Hastings, Jennifer Candela, in Farmington Hills. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, being a girl scout leader, golfing, camping, reading, arts and crafts, and putting together puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time at the Covered Bridge camp. She also loved spending time with her 8 grandchildren, Carolyn, Jackie, Matthew, Justin, Katie, Lisa, Stephen, Christopher; and 16 great grandchildren, Gavin, Taylor, Kennedy, Levi, Mason, Jillian, Stella, James, Grant, Morgan, Mya, Elizabeth, Charlie, Haley, Savannah, Olivia. She was predeceased by her sister, Madge, brother Richard, brother in-law Arthur Hastings, brother in-law Daniel Sheppard, and great grandson Joshua. Bob and Kittie enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Hawaii, and throughout the United States, from cruises to road trips, or just making up the itinerary as they went. Upon retirement, they built their dream home on the lake in the middle of no where. They resided there for 20 years, their little piece of paradise. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Bob, her sister Barbara Sheppard, her four children Pam, Scott, Kevin (Laurie), Jennifer (Stephen) and their families, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Truly blessed to have such a wonderful family and amazing Mom As I child I remember she loved us unconditionally sometimes stearn when needed, but always with love teaching us good values and morals and bringing us up in church. We never lacked for anything especially not love. As I grew up I realized just how blessed we we're to have such a wonderful family and a mom and dad who loved us and showed me how to give selflessly to others and love like they did, I know that anyone who has ever had the opportunity to be around her certainly could attest that she spoke kindly wasn't judgemental just did what she did best, being a friend who cared about others. Though I know one day we will be together again I can't help but to feel a void in the absence of her presence with us here, Love you Mom ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have quite a few memories of my Aunt Kitty but one of my favorites was when she let me get behind the wheel of the car when I was like 10 and let me drive. I think she looked after the gas and brake haha. Growing up I would spend a week with my cousin Jennifer at the house in Farmington Hills and Aunt Kitty would always have some kind of craft set up for us. Our family is sure going to miss her. Love you lots Aunt Kitty xxxooo. Tracy, Mark, Matt and Mike and Sarah
