I didn't meet Larry until he was retired from the Post Office. He was part of a group of Retirees who met for breakfast once a month and because I was married to a retiree I was a regular attendee. Larry and I frequently sat near each other, so we conversed fairly often. He kept notes for the local Post Office newsletter.
As Larry's illness began to progress, somehow he managed to attend (sometimes with a little HELP from his friends!). During that time, I NEVER ONCE heard him complain, as he had to depend more and more on others for his ADL's. I'm sure he has gone on to a place where he is no longer in pain and could probably dance a "jig" if he wanted to. You go for it, Larry! In the meantime, I will miss you a lot!

Working at the Post Office when I first met Larry, I thought to myself, "I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley".
In time I came to find him to be one of the gentlest people I ever knew.

Larry will be missed by those of us attending New Hope Church. We greeted one another every Sunday, before the pandemic, although we never visited and I doubt he even knew my name. May our Lord be close as you grieve Larry.

Dear Jackie, we were so sorry to learn about Larry. It was a shock to learn of his passing. When we would visit him at Marsh Road he looked in good health. We had some good visits at the home. He was so proud of his family, children, and grandchildren. He was also proud of his country and his service in the navy. He was a man of faith a wonderful prayer warrior. We will him seeing him at church. Love and blessings, Bill and Mary Opland, Haslett, MI
