Larry was born August 21st, 1934 to Joseph and Carmen Christie. He had two brothers, Jack Christie (Gerry) and James Christie, and his sister, Barbra (Chuck) Christie LaMachia.
His life began in DeWitt, where he attended school before honorably serving his country in the Navy. He furthered his education at Lansing Community College. It was at a local dance hall where fate intervened, and Larry, determined to dance with the prettiest girl in the room, met the woman who would become his loving wife, Pauline Christie. His successful charm led to a beautiful marriage, a testament to his determination to dance his way into her life.
Larry's legacy lives on through his four children, whom he raised with his wife: his two sons, John (Teresa) Christie and Jim Christie, and his two daughters, Brenda Christie Garza and Sue (Todd) Scott. He also leaves behind a loving family, including many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as countless friends who will cherish his memory.
Larry spent his professional life as a dedicated draftsman, contributing his skills to Federal Drop Forge in Lansing for many years. He later continued his career at Melling Forge in Owosso, where he worked diligently until his well-deserved retirement.
He found his greatest joy in the outdoors, chasing adventure with a spirit that was always on the move. He lived a life of hands-on passions, from the gentle companionship of his horses and dogs to the artistry of his woodworking. His love for the open road led him on motorcycle trips, and cherished travels to Florida to visit his daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Larry also enjoyed the quiet solitude of the occasional hunting trip, but he will be most remembered for the deep love he had for his family and the full life he led.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Carmen. He now joins his beloved wife, Pauline T. Christie; his daughter Brenda Christie Garza; his great-grandson Angel Scott; his brothers Jack and James Christie; and his sister Barbra Jean LaMacchia.
