Mark Alan House

October 6, 1964June 18, 2020

Mark Alan House, 55 of Webberville, passed away at DMC Harper Hospital in Detroit on June 18th, after a 6 year fight against Multiple Myeloma.

Mark was a lifelong resident of Webberville MI. He was born on October 6, 1964 to Eldred Sanford and Dorothy May (Shepler) House.

Mark enjoyed attending tractor pulls and working on the family farm that will have been in the House family for 100 years in 2021. He was a member of the Leroy Township Fire Department for 28 years, rising to the ranks of fire chief before retiring. He served as a Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Holt and was baptized there in 2015. These are just a few of the things he enjoyed; but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Galen House. He is survived by his daughter, Holly House; sons, Matthew (Collette Pratt) House and Adam (Kyra Kareckas) House; fiancé, Denise Kassa and her daughter, Haley; three adoring grandchildren, Kaylynn House, Jalen Pancrasio, and the newest addition, Jaxson House; brothers, Ronald (Helen) House, Gerald (Rita) House, Roger House; and favorite sister, Dawn (David) Bergin; as well as, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation in Mark's name to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Michigan Chapter, 549 Ottawa Ave NW #307, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503, www.lls.org/michigan.

Some of my favorite memories were made on House Rd. Cousin Mark and I are just a year apart. As kids I remember thinking, man my cousin is awesome. All of those chores. All of that hard work. Watching, Mitzy the dog following Mark around... Tractor rides with Uncle Eldred and Mark in the fields.
Mark, you will be missed. Thank you for making my childhood, extra special. Rest in peace.

He always teased that I was older, but mind you it was only a month. I will miss him, he was a good man.

Mark, Denise, and I all serve(d) as Deacons at the First Presbytarian Church of Holt. Their strength and perseverance through Mark’s cancer was that of a Super Hero. Our members all love Mark, and our prayers never wavered. He’ll live in our hearts always until we meet again. My prayers of peace and strength go out to all his family.
His sister in Christ,
