Maurice Fredrick Monroe Jr., born December 16, 1950 passed away unexpectedly on February 15th, 2015. He was the son of Maurice and Helen Monroe, survived by his loving wife Alice Monroe, daughters Leslie (Meng) Yang, Lauren (Joey) Whitaker, son Nicholas Monroe (Fiancé Julie), grandchildren Rachelle Yang, Maelani Yang, Jovi Yang, Ella Whitaker, brothers Christopher (Debi) Monroe, Joseph Monroe, Steven (Maureen) Monroe, sisters Linda (Paul) Hetrick, Barbara Monroe, Mary (Bill) Walton, and Bette (Dave) Kidd. Maurice was an avid Red Wings fan, loved his music and always enjoyed a round of golf. Maurice was gifted in masonry, woodworking and being the best husband, dad and papa anyone could ask for. He will be missed by many and loved very much by all.
Services will be held Thursday February 19, 2015 at 12:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston, with Rev. Wesley Emerson officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00pm, and one hour prior to the service. The Rosary will be prayed at 7pm on Wednesday.
