Pam spent her childhood in Lansing and in 1960 her family moved to Iowa where she graduated from Roosevelt High School. She met her first husband, Fred Kehoe who tragically died in a car accident after three months of marriage. She then met her lifelong husband, Doug, father of their children, shortly thereafter and they started their life together. Doug’s enlistment in the Army led them to move several times to places like Fort Sill, Panama, and Killeen before they landed in Houston. In 1977, they moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma where they raised their children and formed long time friendships. They enjoyed golfing together and spending time with friends at Dornick Hills and Fireside Dining. They loved to travel and took amazing trips to destinations such as London, Paris, Hawaii, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. They moved a couple more times after the kids were grown, ending up in Maryland for 7 years before Doug passed away. In 2012, Pam moved back to Houston to be with family. The past 10 years she enjoyed taking cruises, going on a trip to Ireland, seeing a granddaughter get married in the Bahamas, and taking many casino visits.
Pam enjoyed her career as a travel agent. She was also an avid golfer, a great bridge player, loved to paint and enjoyed gourmet cooking. She even had a career as a dental assistant when she was younger. Pam was a huge sports fan of the Houston Texans and Astros.
Pam loved God and serving in the First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Land and the First Presbyterian Church of Ardmore. Pam and Doug devoted time leading the youth groups. Pam also loved her kids and grandkids. As a young mom, she stayed very busy with the kids’ activities. She was so much fun and would do anything for anyone. The Cook house was always the place to hang out. As one of her friends described her, she was the life of the party. When the grandkids came, she made sure to share family stories and traditions, like baking pies, matching Christmas Eve pjs and cutting down fresh Christmas trees.
Pam will be laid to rest in the family cemetery in Williamston, Michigan. There will be two services for family and friends. In Houston a Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood. Then in Michigan, a service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 am, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home Williamston Chapel, 205 E Middle St., Williamston, MI 48895.
