Patricia L. Norton “Pat”, age 87, of Webberville passed away peacefully August 28, 2021. She was born December 11, 1933 in Holt, Michigan to Lyman W. (Warren) and Agnes Irene Galvin. She attended and graduated from Williamston High School.
In early 1954 Donald Norton, fresh home from Korea, walked by the Methodist Church and “Patty” was walking out from playing the piano with her mother and sister Doris. After he learned that she worked at The Dog House he made a routine of going in for sloppy joes and Boston coolers. Little did he or the beautiful, kind waitress know that they were meeting the love of their lives. They were married on June 4th, 1954 and celebrated 67 years of marriage this past June.
Pat loved people and was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. At one time there were her husband Don, their three boys along with 6 nephews and two brothers-in-law all relying on Mom/Aunt Pat to take care of all of them and she did so with much love even when ALL of the boys came down with chicken pox!
For many years Pat worked at the Felpausch Food store in Williamston. Many customers were known to wait a little longer so they could go through her line and say hello! Her employment at Felpausch proved to be a challenge for her three boys as anytime they might step out of line she usually knew before they got home! After a short retirement period from Felpausch, Pat worked for a couple of years as the greeter/ operator at D&G Equipment in Williamston with her sons Brian, Dan and daughter-in-law Patti. Many a tough old farmer would take the time to chat with Pat even if they didn’t talk much to anyone else.
Pat was the definition of an incredible Mother, Grandmother, Nana, Great-Grandmother and Great-Nana. There was never a doubt in any of her children or Grandchildren that they were completely loved no matter what and if they ever needed someone in their corner, she would be the first to be there. When her sons found their loves of their lives, they instantly became her daughters and integral parts of her family.
Pat was an awesome cook and holds the unofficial title of “Best Macaroni and Cheese maker in the world!" As her Grandkids became older it became a game to send pictures and bragging words to all others when one received a special delivery of the coveted dish! Pat also loved to camp and spent many a fun week at Bruin Lake with Don and her sisters Helen and Eleanor and their husbands Ervin and Sam.
Pat is survived by her husband Donald “Don”, her three sons and their wives Randy (Kathryn) Brian (Patti)and Daniel (Stephanie) and Grandchildren Lonney, Ashley, Jessica, Samantha, Donald, Madison and Allison and a host of Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Irene Galvin, brothers James (Jim), Jerry, Robert (Bob), Warren (Sonny) and Clarence (Bud) as well as sisters Jo Ann, Dorathy, Eleanor, Doris, Mary, Helen and Grandson Lance.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests The Hospice Center at Sparrow Hospital or the charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Pat’s life will be held at a later date.
