Life often finds a way to touch hearts deeply, and the story of Phoebe Jane MacIntosh is a testament to that. Living to the remarkable age of 101, she left behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Remembering Jane is important, as her life reflects the value of family and the strength of lasting relationships.
Jane married her high school sweetheart, Howard MacIntosh, in 1946. Their marriage lasted an incredible 70 years, until his death in 2016. Together, they built a life focused on hard work and mutual love and respect. As they faced the challenges that always come with life, their partnership showed everyone around them how love and marriage can flourish over the years. This bond not only enriched their lives but also set a standard for all of our family relationships.
As the daughter of the late Wilfred and Emily Lozon, Jane grew up in a loving family. She was preceded in death by her brothers Garnet Lozon and Joseph Lozon, as well as her son, Jon MacIntosh. Despite these losses, she remained a strong figure for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Angelo) Pecora of Williamston, MI; six grandchildren, Kristen (Dennis) Lenkowski, Andrew Howell, Weston (Karina) MacIntosh , Erin (Justin) Kibbey, PJ Keene (Courtney Cohn), and Caitlin Keene (Carlos Martinez), and six great-grandchildren, Zane Zwiernik, Joshua Lenkowski, Jenna Lenkowski, Alexandra MacIntosh, Sagan Martinez-Keene, and Connor Kibbey. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Susie MacIntosh, her sister-in-law Jean Bass, and many loving nieces and nephews. Each family member has his or her own special memories of Jane, from her warm hugs to her wise advice. These connections remind everyone of the importance of our family bonds that last through generations.
Friends and family remember Jane for her generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand. For many years, she volunteered at the local hospital and was an enthusiastic bowler on the old Detroit Edison women’s bowling team. She and Howard grew the best cucumbers, tomatoes, and rhubarb and spoiled us all forever because of their taste. Jane loved to bake, do crossword puzzles, watch Jeopardy, cross stitch, sew, crochet, and knit. She also had an ongoing battle with her grandchildren and great grandchildren to see who was the best Uno player. Whether it was baking cookies for her family or simply being there to listen, Jane’s presence made a difference. Her kindness created a ripple effect, encouraging all of us to show love and support for others.
The memories of Phoebe Jane MacIntosh will remain alive in the hearts of each of us. Her legacy of love, family, and kindness serves as a powerful reminder to all that this is what truly matters in life.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
