Raymond Ralph Silsby (Dave) was born on April 12, 1941 in Lansing. He went to his heavenly home October 28, 2018, at the age of 77. Survived by wife of 57 years, Ida Silsby (Lillywhite); siblings, Jean Ferrigan (Silsby), Dean Silsby (JoAnn), Ariel Andrews (Rodney), Karen Gardner (Rick), daughters Angela Silsby and Amy Buchler (Mark), son Chris Silsby, grandchildren: Christopher Silsby (Caryn), Kendra Silsby, Michael Buchler, Adam Buchler, Abigail Buchler, Great Grandchildren: Jonathon Silsby, Maggie Martinez, and Isaiah Martinez. Predeceased by son Stephen Silsby.
Dave was a lifelong resident of the Webberville Community where he married his high school sweetheart and raised their children. He retired from General Motors after 33 years. He enjoyed spending many hours working on the farm and spending time with family. Dave could often be found on his golf cart or tractor taking his grandkids for rides. He especially loved tooling around in his white truck and cheering on friends and family at sporting events. In addition, Dave was also involved in Family Life Wesleyan (Rowley) Church. His smile, kindness, grit and love of life had a huge impact on those that knew him best and will be missed.
The family will receive friends and family at Family Life Wesleyan (Rowley) Church, 3720 Rowley Rd., on Tuesday from 3-5pm and 6-8pm for visitation and viewing. There will also be viewing on November 1st from 10-11am. The funeral will immediately follow viewing at 11:00 on November 1st.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Family Life Wesleyan Church, Meals On Wheels and/or any charity of your choice.
