Ray was born June 28, 1934 to Matt and Hulda (Honkavaara) Hakkila and passed away peacefully at home May 26, 2014. Ray and his wife Charlotte, who preceded him in death, enjoyed being lifelong residents of Williamston, and raised their family there. He was a retired Operating Engineer after 35 years, and was a member of the local Eagles. Ray is preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, brother Willard Johnson, and son Philip Hakkila. He is survived by his daughter Sandra Anita Hakkila, son Douglas Joseph Hakkila, grandson Kadin D. Reino Hakkila, and many close friends.
