Richard was born March 8, 1951 in Lansing, MI and peacefully passed away at home November 7, 2020 with his loving family at his side.

Richard was the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Parkhurst) Travis. He is survived by his children Troy and Kristen Travis of Morrice, MI; Tiffany Travis of Morrice, MI; and three grandchildren Haileigh, TJ, and Peyton Travis also of Morrice, MI.

The commitment and dedication to his family was just an outward token of his private true love he had for them all. If you had the privilege of knowing Richard, you knew him as a very loyal son and friend. He was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed bowling and he served on the board at KCS Angels. He was a proud man, with a deep passion for his children and grandchildren. Richard will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

The family will be holding visitation Friday Nov. 13th from 6pm-8pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle St, Williamston and again Saturday from 10am-12pm, followed by a Grave Side Service at Summit Cemetery in Williamston at 1pm. Measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus will be observed, including the wearing of masks. Please join the family for more memory sharing, fellowship and food at Brookshire Inn & Golf Club, 205 W Church St, Williamston from 1:30 to 3:30.

I had the honor and privilege to work with Rick at MSU Physical Plant from 1998 to 2010. He was always ready to help, share a kind word and a smile. During the time I served as Senior Architect, Rick was always a resource for questions about roofing or masonry and life in general. I am saddened by his passing. May he continue to live in all of our memories.

We have known Rick and been neighbors for much of his life. He was definitely a family man, devoted to his parents and children. He left this earth for a better place and to be with his parents. Troy, Tiff and other family members we offer you our condolences and please remember the good times and how much he loved you. He is no longer suffering and is finely pain free. RIP Rick.

I worked with Rick from 1990 - 1995 as a student roofer at MSU. He was a great guy. I always enjoyed talking to him while we worked and during our "extended" lunch breaks.....lol. He taught me a lot. Rest easy old friend.
