Robert W. Benjamin

Robert William Benjamin, age 86, of Webberville, Michigan passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was born June 4, 1938 in Williamston, the son of Clarence and Azalia (Platt) Benjamin. He grew up on the family farm. At the age of 14 he moved in with Hershel Head on his farm in Leroy Twp, and Hershel became a mentor to him. He graduated from Williamston High School in 1956 and enlisted in the National Guard. Robert started his career in the tool and die trade. In 1958 he married the love of his life, Joyce Schuchaskie, who preceded him in death in 2017. In 1968 Robert bought his father-in-law's farm and transformed it into a much larger operation.

Surviving are his children, Mark (Mark Taylor) Benjamin, James (Julia) Benjamin, Todd (Loretta) Benjamin, and Suzanne (Allan) Tuttila; grandchildren, Candice, Daniel, Ashley, Thomas, Anthony, Cassie, Carrie, Hillary, Eric; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Claude; and his beloved Corgi, Molly. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; and sisters, Mary and Ruth.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Williamston Chapel, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
