When I first met Bob a few year back at a Lily holiday luncheon , He was a happy easy going guy in his flannel shirt with suspenders . When I saw him again he was always egger to share his knowledge of plants and country life over a cup of coffee. Bob was easy to talk to.
May He Rest in Peace .

My grandpa, Bob Jonckheere, is the man who gave me my green thumb and love of plants. We were literally being lugged around in the garden and following him along planting/maintaining things out there before we could walk. Much of my childhood was spent outside with grandpa. He had a love for all things living and taught us that love. 🐝🌿♥️

Among many other things, he was a chairman on board for the North American Lily Society, an accomplished lily breeder, a graduate of the MSU master gardeners course, and also later a member of the Greater Lansing Orchid society with me. My love for plants will always be a part of my grandpa that lives on forever. ♥️❤️‍🩹🙏

This is why sharing my love of plants is so special to me... The passions that we have that arise from the special bonds we hold dear to us are the most beautiful ways to express our love for those who ignited these passions and keep that love in this world and in our hearts forever.

Very sorry to hear of Bob's passing and the loss it is for you. Being one of the younger cousin's my memories are few of Bob. We were very pleased to see and talk with him during the 2018 Family reunion. Rest in peace - our prayers for you and the family.

So sorry for your family’s loss. Bob was always one the “the big kids (cousins)” so I never got to know well when we visited the farm, or when his family visited ours. The pictures tell a story of what a family man he was. I’m sure he’ll be sorely missed.

I remember so much from our growing up years. I was the first born of the Jonckheere cousins and then came Bobby just a few months later. I remember spending time at their farm, the circular driveway and riding our trikes up to speed down that hill. I remember the house with two stairways to get upstairs. And all five kids! Then the years passed and we all lost touch. But I never forgot Bob, Chuck, Julia, MaryJo and Mark...but mostly Bob. I was so happy to see and hug him at the 2018 Family reunion. May you Rest in Peace dear cousin.
