Scott Douglas Swiger

Scott Douglas Swiger, age 56, was born June 20, 1955 and went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Charlene of Lansing, Son, Brian Chartrand (Rita) of Ionia, stepsons, Mark Mathews of Mason, Michael Mathews of Williamston, and daughter, Stephine Miller of Fenton, grandchildren (the loves of his life) Noble Chartrand, Madalynn Mathews and Destanie Bittner. Also, Mother Mary Helen Kopulos of East Lansing, brothers, Dennis (Mary) of Williamston, Stuart (Kathy) of Manistee and several nieces and nephews and very good friends, Rachel Akers, Keli Bashore and Melisa Stewart and his canine children Jack and Molly. He is preceded in death by his father Earl, and his grandparents Guy and Lucille Barnes and Carl and Geneva Swiger. We would like to thank Sparrow Hospice for all their wonderful care. Visitation will be at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle St., Monday, January 9, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and on Tuesday January 10, 2012 one hour prior to the service at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Daryl L. Franzel officiating. Burial at Summit Cemetery in Williamston. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Services, Sparrow Foundation, PO Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909.
