Sharon passed away on July 24, 2014 at the age of 85. She was born on December 19, 1928, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Edward M. and Teresa (Batterberry) McDonald, who both preceded her in death.
She grew up in a strong Irish Catholic family. Sharon graduated from Mason High School in 1946, and married Vernon J. Hodge on May 1, 1954.
Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader, having a keen mind and sharp wit.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Hugh Hodge; and two brothers, Thomas McDonald and Dennis McDonald.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Frances (Bruce) Rogers, Teresa (Jeff) Michalski, and Margaret Hodge; sons, Barne (Ann) Hodge, Tom (Donna) Hodge, and Curt (Michelle) Hodge; 24 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two sisters, Joanne Dolbee and Marlene Hope; and one sister-in-law, Madelean McDonald.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 157 High Street, Williamston, MI with the Rev. Peter J. Clark officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Hodge will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle Street, Williamston on Sunday, July 27 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m, with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. The Rite of Committal will be held at Alchin Farm Cemetery, Webberville, Michigan
