Susan Diane Trimmer (Fisher), 53, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2012. The daughter of Albert and the late Renate Hermsen, Susie was born on May 25, 1959. She grew up in Okemos, MI, and then lived in Williamston, MI for twenty years. She recently settled in Haslett, MI with her husband Tim, whom she married in 2010. A graduate of MSU, she was a lifelong Spartan fan. She went on to earn her MBA from Spring Arbor University in 2010. Sue was an outstanding professional woman, raising money for student scholarships and college improvements as Foundation Director at Lansing Community College and Director of Development at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. Tim and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Susan was such a beautiful person. My mom, June Viera thought alot of her. She was so nice after my mom passed away and taking care of my mom's scholarship fund. Susan will be dearly missed.

I am so thankful for the impact Sue had on my life. It was in 2010 when she brought a project (to this day I cant remember what it was) to my class while finishing up my first associates. I was only interested in helping, but eventually Sue inspired me to lead the project. It was the first time I had done anything like that. The project ended up getting cancelled but it was a mere stepping stone into my future in leadership. It was because of Susan's opportunity that I pursed many leadership opportunities at LCC. Opportunities if it had not been for Susan's belief in me. She was a great individual who I only knew for a short period of time. I was extremely shocked when I heard she had passed recently. I only wished I could have heard of this sooner. So that I may have attended her celebration with friends and family. Susan was and still is my inspiration to help lead others and educate future leaders. I just want to say thank you again to Susan's family for their loved ones contribution to my life.

My love and prayers go out to the family. We in the Michigan American
Council on Education Network and its Executive board respected loved and cherished Sue both as a higher education professional and friend.
May knowing that she made a difference in our lives and profession help sustain you at this very sad time.

I was so blessed to have met Sue a few months before she became Sue Trimmer. We had an instant connection due to her warmth and enthusiasm for life. A very special person, her generous and loving nature will be missed by all who knew her. My deepest sympathy to her family for the loss they must endure. But remember that she will always be with you in your heart.

Many Blessings,

Sue and I worked together for many years on the LCC Foundation. She was eternally energetic, positive, and devoted to raising funds to benefit students in need. I'm so saddened by her passing at such a young age. She still had a lot to contribute. Many thoughts and prayers are with you.

It is with sadness that I offer condolences to the Fisher - Trimmer family. Sue was very instrumental in helping me launch the LAFCU/LCC external scholarship program; she was always thrilled to be on the review panel and a joy to work with. Sue was a great person with passion for her job, she will be missed.
