William (Bill) Floyd Crabtree

Born on August 2nd 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Floyd and Mary Crabtree and passed on April 17, 2013 in Williamston, Michigan. Raised in south New Jersey Bill was the mainstay of the family farm. There he met his wife of 57 years, Phoebe Young. After graduating from his high school in Moorestown, NJ Bill attended Temple University and was a letterman on the football team. Upon graduation Bill entered the Army as a 2nd LT in the Military Police. After his Military career Bill joined the corporate world in 1963 with PPG in Clarksburg, West Virginia then began working with Rockwell as a financial analyst in 1967. His job took him and his family across the country to many locations including California, Massachusetts, Texas, Rhode Island, and Michigan. He retired in 1998 as the CFO of the Oloffson Corporation in Lansing, MI. Bill continued as a financial contractor for two more years with Open Plan Systems in Richmond, Virginia. He is survived by his loving wife Phoebe, son William, daughters Carolyn (Dave) McLaughlin, Annice (Scot) Schlesinger, Grandchildren Jennifer and Michelle Crabtree, Lara and Sara McLaughlin, and Tyller and Owen Schlesinger. Bill will be laid to rest on Thursday, April 25 at 1:00PM in the Fort Custer Veterans Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan. Please make any donations to a charity of your choice.
