

Mr. Christopher Ryan Modlin, 34, of Jamesville, went home to be with Jesus, on Wednesday, August 22, at Vidant Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 2:30 in the Biggs Funeral Home Chapel in Williamston. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.
A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Chris was a graduate of East Carolina University and was the original owner of Tropical Smoothie Café in the Lynncroft Shopping Center in Greenville. He was a member of Cedar Branch Baptist Church in Jamesville. Those that knew Chris will always remember him for his dynamic personality and generous spirit. He enjoyed traveling and was a movie and music enthusiast. Chris also took great pride in being an uncle to his niece and nephew.
Chris was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Milton and Mae Jackson and paternal grandfather, Dalma Modlin.
Chris is survived by his parents, Roger and Ann Modlin, of Jamesville; his brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Johnna Modlin, of Greenville; his niece, Grace Modlin, of Greenville; his nephew, Braden Modlin, of Greenville; and his maternal grandmother, Deslea Modlin, of Jamesville. He is also survived by many cherished friends and family members.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston.
