Irene Proebstl Leggett

Irene Proebstl Leggett, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Roanoke River Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Macedonia Christian Church with Dolan Baker, Rev Roger Leggett, and Dr. Tom Ward officiating; burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Leggett was born August 9, 1928 in Augsburg Germany. She was retired from Martin Community College where she worked as a secretary for many years. She was a member of the Roberson Chapel Presbyterian Church. On August 18, 1948 she married John D Leggett who survives.

Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter Diana Leggett Matkins and husband Richard of Shreveport Louisiana.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8:30 PM at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at home of Gail Hardison 1110 County Club Drive Williamston
