James William “Bill” Bowen, 92, died Thursday July 24, 2014 at the Fountains of the Albemarle in Tarboro. A Graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery with Father Hank Burdick officiating.
Bill was born in Martin County on July 20, 1922, son of the late David O. and Maggie Nicholson Bowen. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser Company where he worked as a shipping clerk. He attended the Williamston First PH Church.
He is survived by sons Billy Bowen of Plymouth, Ralph Bowen of Williamston and “Bobby Bowen of Ayden, daughter Mary Ann Mizelle of Virginia Beach, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday one hour before the service at Biggs Funeral Home.
