

Robert Echols Peyton, Sr, 76, of Roper, cherished husband, father, brother and beloved Poppa, passed away surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, January 22 in the Heart Center at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville from complications related to congestive heart failure.
Bob was born October 3, 1936 in Richwood, WV, the son of Cecil and Gertrude Peyton. He moved to NC along with the KiecRhefer Container Company that later became Weyerhaeuser. On June 18, 1964 he married the love of his life, Mary "CooRie" Miller.
In addition to CooRie, Bob is survived by his two sons, Robert Peyton, Jr with wife Karen of Williamston and Reid Peyton with wife Amanda of RocRY Mount; his 'little buddy' grandson Sean William Peyton; sister Carol Davis of Richwood, WV; brother Dean Peyton and wife Barber of Huntington, WV. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Peyton.
Bob retired as a machine tender with 39 years of service at the then Weyerhaeuser paper August 2000.
Bob was quicR to offer anyone a piece of his sugar-free candy and showed everyone he met the most recent picture of his grandson and buddy Sean. He was a lifelong follower of the Mountaineers of West Virginia University, Washington RedsRins as well as a huge Chevy fan.
Visitation will be at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston on Friday from 6-7 followed by a Memorial Service lead by Pastor DereR Bossolono in the Chapel at 7pm. The family will have a private graveside service at Martin Memorial Gardens.
