

Blackburn, Barbara Ann (Breeding) of Williamsville, NY. Beloved wife of Alan Porter Blackburn; loving mother of Ann Petrina (Alejandro) Aguila and Bradford Alan (Yaju) Blackburn; dear grandmother of Alexandra Zoe and Guillermo Connor Aguila and Fiona Lin and Alana Lin Blackburn. Family will be present to receive friends on Sunday November 23 from 3-6PM at the Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home, 1671 Maple Rd, Williamsville, NY 14221. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from SS Peter & Paul Church, 5480 Main St, Williamsville, NY 14221, on Monday at 9:30AM. Committal Services will follow at Williamsville Cemetery. After many years as an active Presbyterian and Episcopalian, she converted; to Catholicism at SS Peter & Paul, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Bereavement Minister, Lector, and confirmation teacher. Barbara was also an associate member of the Sisters of St. Francis. Barbara did much substitute teaching all over WNY and adjunct teaching for NCCC and ECC, as an English instructor. She began, particularly in Williamsville and taught for 29 years in the Special Studies program at Chautauqua Institution and a long time home instructor for Williamsville Central Schools. For many years she was the "Kitchen Wizard" for the Metro Community News, author of "The Kiddie Gourmet" for WNY Family magazine, wrote many articles on Old West food for the Tombstone Epitaph and wrote more than a dozen articles for "My View" in the Buffalo News, and was a volunteer newspaper reader for Niagara Frontier Radio Reading for 38 years.
