of Getzville, NY, passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 75.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Edward F. Rucker, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage; cherished mother of Kelly M. Berg and Kristie L. (Michael) Cheslek; devoted grandmother of Tyler Berg and Mackenzie Cheslek; and loving sister of Phyllis (Joe) Morgante, Deborah (Dennis) Foore, and Matthew (Lynne) Villano. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Barbara had a special gift for bringing family together and making everyone feel at home, no matter where they gathered.
That same generosity extended well beyond her family. Throughout her years working for the Sweet Home Central School District, Barbara had a particular place in her heart for students who needed a little extra support. She quietly found ways to make sure they had what they needed, sometimes slipping backpacks filled with school supplies and snacks into students’ lockers without seeking recognition or praise. Her kindness was often given quietly, but its impact was deeply felt.
Barbara will be remembered for her devotion to family, her generous spirit, and the countless ways—both large and small—she made life better for the people around her. Her greatest joy came from caring for others and bringing people together, and that legacy will live on in the family and friends who loved her.
