June 30, 2014, age 91, husband of the late Sylvia M. Underwood; devoted father of Richard (Deborah), Boyd Jr. (Luzelena), Gary (Kathleen), Stephen and Paul (Kelly); grandfather of Richard and Kody Underwood, Maria Vitagliano, Jennifer, Amanda, Boyd III, Kelly Ann, Gregory, Bianca and Scarlett Underwood; great-grandfather of nine; son of the late Brent and Ethel Underwood. Boyd was a World War II veteran, served in the Air Force and was stationed in England, where he met his future wife, Sylvia. They returned to U.S. and married. Following the war, Boyd settled in Upstate New York with his new wife and worked as a General Supervisor-Production at the GM Tonawanda Engine Plant. He retired in 1980. Boyd was a proud member of the Scottish Rite Masons for 66 years and a member in the Ancient Landmarks Lodge No. 358 in Amherst. No prior visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
