Suddenly, January 21, 2019. Beloved husband of 52 years to Sandy (McAllister) Masterson. Dear father to Lori (Mark) Storch, Jodi (Scott) Miller; dearest grandfather of Kate Kraus, Sean Miller, Brian Kraus, Mitchell Miller, Kayla Miller and Kylee Storch; brother of the late Mary Byington and James Masterson. Brian began his Union career in 1971 as a driver with Dominion Consolidated Truck Lines and was elected Steward in 1976. In 1983, he became a Trustee of Local 375 and in 1988, was elected Recording Secretary and Business Agent. In 1997, he was elected to the post of President and Principal Executive Officer of Local 375. Brian’s other positions included the positions of Vice-President of Buffalo Joint Council 46, serving on the Policy Committee of the Eastern Region of the Teamsters, and Chairman of the New York State Freight Division. In 1977, Brian was selected as Chairman of the New York State Supplement Negotiating Committee. At a December 1997 meeting of the Principal Executive Officers of the participating Local Unions, he was unanimously elected Union Trustee for the New York State Teamster Health Fund and the Pension Fund. Brian was an avid bowler, enjoyed golf, but mostly loved spending time with his family. “I became involved in the Union because I wanted to make a difference,” Brian Masterson.
