A graduate of Union-Endicott High School and Cortland State Teachers College, Carol enjoyed a long career as an English teacher at Lancaster High School where she is fondly remembered by many former colleagues and students. As a voracious reader, Carol belonged to two book clubs. She especially loved mysteries and history. For over 40 years she rarely missed her aerobics class. She enjoyed playing dominoes with family and friends, jaunts with the Widow and Widowers Club, and adventures with special friends Nancy Barlow, Linda McCausland, Tracie Scott, and Claudia Weiss.
Over the years, Carol traveled widely with family and friends. More recently, she and her late husband John revisited their favorite haunts in Paris, and last year she went on a tour of Ireland with her daughter Kathleen. Carol was a devoted caretaker of her home (inside and out), her numerous houseplants, and Cinnamon and Claude, her two kitties. A lover of music, she was a former member of the Buffalo United Community Choir. She maintained season tickets to the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. She played piano and could often be heard about the house humming or singing. Her top picks in food were spaghetti and meatballs and coffee ice cream. In drink, she preferred tea, "lip-burning hot". Devoted to her family, Carol was a beloved mother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. She spent most Fridays with her daughter and son-in-law in N. Tonawanda and the weekends with her sister and her family in Webster, NY.
