Everyone’s walk with God is different. Carol’s life was beautiful, and her faith was tested when she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in October 2010. What made her so beautiful was her endless love for the Lord and those around her.
Her faith did not falter. In fact she was filled with so much love and peace that even in her last days she worried about everyone else and how they were doing. That was a gift God gave my mother, endless compassion and the ability to make you smile with her smile. I was lucky enough the experience her love for God as I grew up, but I am most thankful to have witnessed her spiritual renewal in the past few months.
Our family fought so hard for her, and we did everything we could to keep her with us longer. But then we realized, as hard as we were fighting for her, God was fighting for her too. She had already surrendered to God’s will, and we knew we must do the same. He gave us the strength to care for her and gave her peace. In Timothy he stated “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith,” and this is a testimony of my mother’s journey.
My mom had been blessed with many angels in her life. She told me how blessed she was to have the family and friends that she had. May we all find comfort in knowing that Carol, a: wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, is now an angel watching over all of us.
May we all find peace knowing she is with God, her savior.
