My condolences, Chad was my dental hygienist in the city of Buffalo, NY. He was the most respectful and genuine kind of guy. We’d talk during my visits  and I was a patient there for several years. Because we were both fathers I remember how he expressed the love for his children. I struggled with fatherhood and he spoke from a fresh perspective that impacted me positively. My sincerest condolences from the bottom of my heart.

Just called Inspire to try to change my appointment to be with Chad and was told that he had passed and I just can’t believe it. Chad had been my hygienist since I started going there and I would always look forward to talking with him about hockey, his boys and his family. Just such a genuinely kind and good person. God bless his family and friends.

I just heard that Chad passed away. My condolences to his family. He was my dental hygienist and always did a fantastic job. He was such a nice guy. He was always so honest and truthful to me and always had funny stories to tell. We were able to joke about masks and having to wear them at the dentist office. He told me a funny story one time about a client that wanted to wear her mask while he was cleaning her teeth. He had a kind and fun way of putting patients at ease.

I just heard of Chad’s passing. A wonderful guy and pleasure to work with. My and my wife Beth’s most sincere condolences. We feel some of your loss. Our best to your family.

Chad was literally the person that made my high school years bearable and even fun. Although we had known each other since we were like 4 or 5 (I have memories of our grandmothers having tea together while we played as kids), we became very close friends on the last day of school from Confederation. After being bullied pretty hard in grade 8, Chad became not just my friend but my protector at Kenner. He made it clear in high school, if you mess with Kelly, then you are messing with Chad. 
Even when he had his big makeover in Grade 10/11 with his new green contacts, new clothes and hair, he became extremely popular and he could have easily tossed me aside for a cooler group of friends, but he was 100% loyal to the core. I seriously can't even imagine what those years at Kenner would have been without him. He could be tough on me at times but he was doing it to raise me up so I didn’t look like a fool in public. In retrospect, I should have listened to him even more than I did. 
Almost every party and every laugh I had those years was directly because of his friendship. Along with Mike, Tony, Shawn and his cousin Kevin, it wouldn't be unusual to go 2 or 3 parties on a Friday/Saturday night at the peak of those years. Afterwards we would drop everyone else off at home and then go to Burger King at 3am to recap the funny events that would have happened that night eating alone in a parking lot. Those late night recaps will always be my favourite moments together. 
He had incredible instincts and could spot a liar, a fake or a phoney a mile away. He was also keenly aware that those high school years were precious and he did everything he could to make sure it was memorable and exciting for all of us, every day of the week. It is only just now I am fully realizing the impact he had on me and everyone around him then. 
We had different paths once high school ended but I will always be grateful that I got to hang with "Chad Cruise" during those formative years.

I would like to send my condolences to the entire Hockaday family.  Chad was the best in ever way. He was a teammate, a mentor & a big brother at times. He always looked out for everyone else a nd if you needed anything he would help you in a second with out hesitation. I am honored to have been one of his friends and share tons of good times together. From playing hockey, to traveling to Peterborough & spending time with his family.  It was always an adventure & we made lasting memorys. I am glad I got to see him a few years ago abd at his 40th bday party. We had so much fun. I will miss you Chad. Cheers & God Bless

I am so sorry to hear of Chad’s passing. I had the honor to be his hockey coach at Broome Community College. Chad was always a classy guy, no matter what was happening.  He was a team leader both on and off the ice.  So many great memories. Chad will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

I am so deeply sadden by the news of Chad’s death. I met Chad thru my son Dan DeZak , and had nice conversations with him when I had seen him in their neighborhood.  He was a good man.

It’s been over 20 years since I’ve seen Chad, I remember the leader he was on the ice and off. He was a guy anyone could count on and, even though I have not seen him in years, he made a positive impact on my life and I will miss knowing he was out there making an impact in peoples lives. Chad's sudden passing has left us all shocked and deeply saddened.

Chad was a shining light. His charm, kindness, and sense of humor were admired by his patients and coworkers alike. He had a unique, special way of connecting with people and was a role model to so many.
