

Passed away July 7, 2023 in Franklin, TN at the home of her son, Kris Mason.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Mason; loving mother of Kris Mason of Franklin, TN and David Mason of Murfreesboro, TN; cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Tyler) Rossman, Jessica (Ryan) Goad, Jonathan, Matthew and Alexa Mason; devoted great-grandmother of Jackson Goad and Evelyn and Bennett Rossman; daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Arbogast.
Born and raised in Williamsville, New York, Dorothy graduated from Williamsville High School in the class of 1949 and New York University in Buffalo. In 1968 she and her family moved to Valparaiso, Indiana
Dorothy was a well known Travel Agent in Valparaiso. She was the original owner and founder of four travel agencies and developed the first travel school in the State of Indiana. As part of the travel school, Dorothy often provided free training to individuals with low income. She also provided training to Valparaiso University students enrolled in the University’s Geography Program who were able to receive 3 credit hours for attending the travel school. Her students have found careers in the travel industry around the world and many of her graduates now own their own agencies.
Dorothy loved her husband of 56 years and often said she had to be the luckiest person alive to have been married to such a wonderful man. She also often boasted of how blessed and proud she was to have children and grandchildren that were so successful and were loved so much. Her love of her Golden Retrievers were so much of her life.
Although Dorothy and her husband, Jack lived for over 40 years in Indiana..Her heart was always back in Williamsville. It was and will always be Home she often said.The memories were always wonderful and she was blessed to have grown up there.
No prior visitation. Private Services held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to SPCA Serving Erie County.
