

December 24, 2014. Beloved husband of Marjorie H. (nee Seymour); dear father of Kevin (Amy) Rosteing, M.D., Kim Rosteing and the late Gary Rosteing, M.D.; grandfather of Andre and Monique Rosteing; brother of Allan Rosteing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 12 Noon at Blessed Trinity Church, 317 Leroy Avenue, Buffalo. Flowers gratefully declined.
Dr. Horace Michael Rosteing, of Williamsville, New York, died Wednesday December 24 after severe Congestive Heart Failure. He was 84 years old.
He was born September 29th, 1930 in Manhattan, NY as eldest son of the late Horace Sr. and Olga Rosteing. Often referred to as “Junior” growing up, Dr. Rosteing graduated from Cardinal Hayes high school in Brooklyn with a full track scholarship, which allowed him to attend St. John's college in Brooklyn. After graduation he was admitted to Long Island Medical School, graduating in 1952. Upon completion he interned at Misericordia Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On July 5th, 1952, Dr. Rosteing entered into marriage with Marjorie Seymour.
In 1962 Horace and Marjorie moved to Buffalo, NY. Known as “Mike” to his friends and “Doc” to his patients, he carved out a successful medical practice centered on fair solutions from insurance companies and advocacy of patient rights. He became the first physician to install a computerized system with a program he had written himself and used to market to other physician offices.
Dr. Rosteing was a member of the Erie County Medical Society, the Upstate Medical Alliance, and the Boule Professional Society. His special interests were family, golf, bridge, politics and computers.
Horace is survived by his wife Marjorie; son and his wife, Kevin and Amy; daughter, Kim; brother Allan; grandson Andre Rosteing; and granddaughter Monique Rosteing. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his eldest son Gary.
Funeral services for Dr. Horace M. Rosteing will be held at Blessed Trinity 317 Leroy Ave ( details be forwarded 12/26).
