Irene Lukaszonas

September 13, 1935 - December 10, 2025

With deep sorrow and abiding faith in God’s promise of eternal life, we announce the passing of Irene Ann (Zawacki) Lukaszonas, who entered into the Lord’s embrace on December 10, 2025.

Irene lived a life marked by love, compassion and quiet strength. She carried her faith gracefully, finding comfort and guidance in prayer. Her kindness touched all who knew her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit remains alive in the hearts of those she loved and in the lives she shaped.

Beloved wife of the late Michael Lukaszonas; dear mother of Paul Lukaszonas (Laura Zorn), Marc Lukaszonas and the late Robert Lukaszonas; Mother in law of Janine Lukaszonas.

Grandmother of seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The family entrusts Irene to the mercy of God, confident in the hope of the Resurrection and the promise that “whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 19 at 8:45 am at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church, 200 Saint Gregory Court, Williamsville, NY.

All who knew and loved Irene are invited to join in prayer and remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
