James R. Huffman, age 82, of Grand Island, New York passed away on Monday, May 18. Husband of the late Carolyn S. Huffman (nee Back); father of Julie (Mark) Deuble and Alice (Stephen) Brod; grandfather of Katrina Fritz-Dickman (Christopher) and Charlotte Brod; great-grandfather of Nathan Fritz and Nora Fritz-Dickman. Son of the late Minnie Frances Gilliam Huffman and the late Richard Joseph Huffman. Also survived by his brother Jay (Yolanda) Huffman and sister Gloria (Paul) Zawadzki. James was a Professor of English and American Studies at SUNY Fredonia for 30 years. He also dedicated many years to volunteer leadership for Community of Christ, especially as Board President for Camp Temple Grove. A visitation for James will be held Sunday May 24th from 11 am to 1 pm at PERNA, DENGLER, ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME,1671 Maple Rd, Williamsville, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1 pm.
